Heat shrink tunnel sleeve is a specialized piece of packaging equipment used to apply shrinkable film around a product, often in the form of a sleeve, which is then heated in a tunnel to tightly conform to the product’s shape. This process creates a secure and professional-looking seal, often used for branding, protection, or bundling multiple products together.
Here’s how it works:
1. Sleeve Application: The product is first wrapped in a shrinkable film, often PVC, PET, or polyolefin, which comes in the form of a sleeve. The sleeve is usually applied by a sleeve applicator.
2. Heat Shrink Tunnel: The product with the sleeve enters the heat shrink tunnel, where it is exposed to heated air. The temperature in the tunnel causes the shrink film to contract and tightly wrap around the contours of the product.
3. Cooling: Once the product exits the tunnel, it is allowed to cool down, solidifying the shrink wrap in place.
This technology is widely used in industries like food and beverage, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and other consumer goods, especially for labeling or protective packaging.
